On August 20, 1953, it happened: The working group "Specialist Association of Die-Cut Manufacturers" evolved into the Association for Shipping Cartons (VVK) e.V., which was shortly thereafter renamed the Association for Solid Board Packaging (VVK) e.V. Approximately 70 years ago, 10 carton factories founded what still exists today: an association that continually demonstrates the performance and efficiency of solid board packaging in the German industry.

In the 1960s and 1970s, the performance of solid board was repeatedly tested and demonstrated through spectacular actions – whether it was the overseas trial voyage for solid board packaging titled "Around the World," helicopter drops of filled solid board packages, various transport and storage tests in the tropical Amazon region, or equipping high-altitude expeditions in the Himalayas.

Our members can count on us. With extensive expertise and commitment, we work together to ensure that solid board remains successful in the packaging markets in the future – through ongoing research and development, collective advertising, impactful publications in trade brochures, the VVK Handbook on Solid Board Packaging, and more. We will continue to be active – now and in the future.
